On the morning of October 21st, “Ingenuity with Grace, Treasures in Art” the work course exhibition on the1st floor of the Complex Building, was held by Environment Design junior Class 4 and Production Design junior Class 1 of the School of Art and Design, well received by the students and teachers.
There were 30 Cloisonne and 20 tie-dye works made by students on exhibition. In order to enable students to deeply absorb the charm of traditional folk crafts and encourage nba下注平台 students to take on the responsibility of inheriting and innovating excellent traditional crafts, instructor Liu Lili combined the course “Comprehensive Materials” with Cloisonne enamel craft painting.
At the opening ceremony, Yan Dongguo, deputy secretary of the CPC branch of Art and Design School, gave a speech to highly praise the works in this exhibition, and suggested combining the production of technological products and sales to achieve the integration of industry, education and research. He believed that this kind of talents with traditional handicrafts are those needed by the society.
Mr.Chen Zufan, director assistant of the School of Art and Design, thought highly of the works on exhibition, believing that the Cloisonné in the exhibition was well integrated with the professional courses of the two classes. Application of theory to practice facilitates students in closely combining innovative thinking with traditional crafts.
Instructor Liu Lili made a summary and commented on the exhibition. In her opinion, Cloisonné is made from several manual processes, such as drafting, silk pinching, sand mixing and blue enamel making. Various styles of works are carefully produced through unique craftsmanship. Each line is the soul and life of the work, carrying the spirit of ingenuity.
After the opening ceremony, Ms. Liu and the students on site led all the leaders and teachers to visit the entire exhibition hall and appreciate each work carefully, and introduced the production process and duration of the work.
Tie-dye works were also unanimously loved by teachers and students. Teachers’ comments on the paintings revealed their support and satisfaction for this activity. Students’ pause and gaze showed their appreciation. Many on-site visitors hoped that the works could be sold at a price. One of the exhibited works “Spirit Deer Fuzhu” has been collected by Gao Jianfu Art Museum.
At the award ceremony, the leaders and teachers comprehensively evaluated the works, and finally selected the first prize, second prize, third prize and excellent organization award. Yan Dongguo and other leaders granted certificates to the students.
The successful exhibition demonstrated students’ learning effect of these two classes. Through study of Chinese traditional craft knowledge, students not only exercise practical ability, but also feel the charm of Chinese traditional craft. Students’ responsibility and mission for the inheritance and innovation of the excellent national culture have been evoked. It is believed that traditional craft and technology will be inherited and carried forward.
