On February 17, the University Board and the Administration held an assembly for mobilizing the High Quality Development. Board Chairman Huang Jiazhou gave a talk and President Hu Shejun pointed out the key areas to be worked on.
Chairman Huang’s talk, entitled “Promote the University High Quality Development, Mould Our Gold-lettered Brand”, reaffirmed the achievements that the University had made last year and extended his gratitude and best wishes to the university community. He called on all of us to continue our hard work for our “Gold-lettered Brand” that will last for one hundred years and beyond. Turn our research work into scientific and technological output so as to serve our economy and society. Chairman Huang hoped that all our faculty and staff can closely follow the New Era and the steps of the University for win-win growth.
President Hu made a profound exposition on the State and Guangdong Province High Quality Development Master Plan and the University Blueprint 2023-2026 for goals, tasks and measures building our university into a nationally renowned and provincially first-class institution of higher learning. We must benchmark the State standards required of providing Masters degree programs, the parameters of the Ministry of Education for undergraduate teaching assessment and Guangdong Province Dual-Plan requirements. By 2026, we’ll be running three campuses with distinctive integrated features of New Engineering, Humanities and Sciences. President Hu stressed the following eight key areas of work: talents, disciplines, undergraduate teaching quality, approval of Masters programs, R&D for practical output, responsibility-compensation linkage, campus infrastructure and CPC construction.
