On September 11, 2023, the University Opening Ceremony was held for Class of 2023 in Huizhou New Campus. Present were President Hu Shejun, CPC Secretary Huang Shengcheng, Executive Vice President Fu Huanchang, Vice Presidents Chen Hanjun, Xiao Hai, Zhang Shimei, Zhang Rixin, Zhang Zhihong, as well as deans, secretaries and faculty representatives. The attendance of 6665 freshmen has brought the new campus vigor, vitality and dreams for a brighter future.
President Hu Shejun addressed the event by welcoming all the freshmen and calling on them to study hard, walk with science and excellence, with the reform and opening-up in the Greater Bay Area for making their dreams and ideals come true. Their pursuit of aspirations should be armed with knowledge and technology, so as to better serve our country and the people. President Hu urged all the freshmen to make achievable learning agenda, practise graceful manners, healthy hobbies, regular sports and maintain a shining state of mind, integrating all their personal ambitions, parents’expectations, the university education with the realization of the Chinese Dream of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The Huizhou New Campus at the foot of Luofu Mountains is the launching pad of their new life journey.
Professor Zhao Xianzhou from School of Business Administration, Zheng Libo, a returning student from Data Science and Big Data major, and Xu Hanrui, a new student from Accounting major spoke on behalf of faculty, current students and Class of 2023.
The recruitment this year oriented towards ten provinces and region: Guangdong, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Hainan, Heilongjiang, Anhui and Fujian offering the freshmen 39 academic programs. The new campus will bring greater advantages and vitality to the City of Huizhou for our contribution to Guangdong’s forerunner role of promoting the Chinese path to modernization.
