(Chen Lu) On October 23, a delegation of Baltic State Technological University (BSTU) from Russian Federation visited GZIST. President Hu Shejun extended a warm welcome to the delegation headed by Rector Ivanov and after discussions both sides signed an MoU for formal partnership between the two institutions.
Prior to the meeting and signing ceremony, the delegation visited the labs of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, and Guangdong Province Industrial Robot Assembly and Application Engineering Center, briefed by Dean Yuan Fengshan, Vice Dean Chen Yiping, and Director Tang Luxin. Executive Vice President Fu Huanchang and Secretary of the CPC Committee Huang Shengcheng met with the delegation as well. Also present at the meeting and signing ceremony were Cui Huailin Director of Research Office, Liang Xuehong Dean of School of International Education, and International Project Supervisors Huang Zixuan and Chen Lu.
In the afternoon, the delegation went to visit GZIST new campus located in Boluo, Huizhou City. Vice President Xiao Hai gave an overview of the planning, construction and use of the new campus. The delegation were shown around it and very much impressed by the construction speed and quality.
Deng Nan, Director of Huizhou Campus Management Committee, Liang Xuehong, Dean of School of International Education, Peng Wengang, Deputy Director of Huizhou Campus Management Committee, Ma Yu, Director of Huizhou Campus Teaching Affairs Office, Zhong Renpeng, Director of Huizhou Campus CPC Committee and Administration Office, and International Project Supervisors Huang Zixuan and Chen Lu participated in the meeting and campus visit.
