(Liang Yuming) On November 6, GZIST Huizhou Boluo Campus launched 2023 Autumn Semester “Three Holistic” Education Week. Present were President Hu Shejun, Party Secretary Huang Shengcheng, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President Xiao Hai, Vice Presidents Zhang Rixin and Zhang Zhihong, together with department heads, deans and school Party secretaries. The event was televised by WeChat Video, attended by over 6000 Huizhou Campus students.
After the National Anthem, Party Secretary Huang Shengcheng addressed the opening ceremony by emphasizing that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era is the guide of the event, which aims to develop people for the Party and state, formulating the three holistic elements of the Education Week (whole community, whole process, and omni-dimension) and to foster our students’ character, culture, innovation, sports, physical labor, and self-management. As a campus culture brand, this event goes well with the University’s current theme of “Preparing for the Ministry of Education (MOE) Assessment”. The Education Week features culture, art, sports, Red Classics readings, presentations on MOE Assessment, legal knowledge, track and field competition.
Faculty representative Qi Rui from School of Architectural Engineering shared her path from a young teacher to a mentor instructing her students to compete in science and technology contests, to prepare project applications, to make study and internship plans, and to succeed in their careers.
Student representative Yu Xiaoshi from Grade 2020 School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Electronic Engineering expressed her appreciation on behalf of all the students to the University for the abundant opportunities of growth and soar. By telling her story of winning first prize in the national robotics competition, she called on her fellow students to walk out their dormitories, embrace innovation and practice, set high demands on themselves, integrating academic study, technology competitions and innovation in a complete organic whole.
