On June 2, on the occasion of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China, our university Youth Volunteer Association held a volunteers’ sign language exhibition in the aisle of the large and small football fields, aiming to open up the silent world, care for the disadvantaged, and spread love and warmth to every corner of the society through sign language communication.
In the afternoon, the volunteers promoted the knowledge of sign language and performed sign language exercises to let our fellow students explore the silent world with their hearts. At the same time, the photo wall was used to show the volunteer service of our association, so that students can fully appreciate the volunteer spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual help and progress” expressed by the young volunteers, who also recorded short sign language videos of Lonely Warrior and We Are All the Same, creating an innovative way to promote sign language and enhance students’ interest and desire to learn it.
As the old saying goes, “Roses given, fragrance in hand”. Even though the weather was very hot, the volunteers still enthusiastically participated in the activities, which enriched the students’ after-school life, deepened their passion of sign language and the silent world, enhanced their awareness of caring for the disadvantaged, and made the warmth of volunteer spirit pass to every student’s heart.
